Malshej Ghat – Nane Ghat – Jivdhan – Chawand

Nane Ghat (830 m): This is a historical pass which once in history, enjoyed prime importance. At Nane Ghat the inscription, the steps, the rock-cut rest houses, and the cisterns show that as far back as the 1st century B.C., this route was frequently used. Even now , it carries heavy trade traffic of local tribal people.

Jivdhan (1145 m): An important historical hill fort standing at the edge of the ghats. To the west it’s rock walls drop a sheer 1000 m into the Konkan. It has a prominent isolated pillar, about 60 m high, known as Vanar Lingi (Monkey’s Point) OR Khada Parsi. It commands an excellent view across the Nane Ghat. It has Caves, cisterns and Mohammedan construction on the top.

Chawand (1065 m): It is conical in shape and a prominent landmark. The deep narrow precipice near the summit is an interesting rock climbing proposition. On the top is a small shrine of Local Tribal Peoples and the hill is considered sacred in the region.

Malshej Ghat: This is one of the old trade route connecting Konkan to Ghats. Malshej ghat opens up easy access to many surrounding hill in the valley. This is a most beautiful place to visit in Monsoon.

Trek to Kukdeshwar. Here we will see one ancient temple having very beautiful rock carving. Stay in village

Kulang – Madangad – Alang

Kulang – Madangad – Alang

Kulang : Kulang, Madan and Alang are adjoining peaks and the most prominent among them is Kulang. Standing at the edge of the ghats, it commands a fabulous view all around and tough climb is amply rewarded by a most fascinating sunset. Kulang offers the highest climb from its base to the top in the Sahyadris.The huge rocky terrain, falling steeply to the Konkan presents grand sight.

Madangad : This is a difficult peak to reach. A broad rocky staircase takes you to the bottom of the rock climbing wall, one must be experienced and careful while climbing this fortress. Further ahead, steps lead to a broad plateau with a huge cave and water ponds.

Alang : This is a huge fortress of very great natural strength. A series of water cisterns arranged in a semi-circular fashion on the top is a unique sight. Huge caves are there on the top.

Travel to the base village. Night stay in this village.Day 3:-  Kulangwadi – Kulang (4822 ft.)
Early morning climb Kulang. Climb is bit steep and tiring and it will take 5 -6 hrs. from base to top.Day 4: – Kulang – Base of Madangad
Descend from Kulang and start trek towards the Madangad. Night stay in the base of Madangad.Day 5:- Madangad
Climb this difficult and technical peak by fixing the rope on rock climbing wall. Night stay on Madangad.

Day 6:-  Madangad – Base of Alangalang-kulang-kalsubai
Descend this peak by rappelling down and start trek for Alang. Night stay in the base of Alang.

Day 7:-    Day 7:Alang
Climb this peak and explore its surrounding. Huge caves are there. Night stay on Alang.

Day 8:-   Alang – Ghatghar (Base Village)
Descend from this peak and trek to the base village Ghatghar. Night stay in village.

Day 9:    Ghatghar – Mumbai
Travel back to Mumbai. Night stay in Hotel. Tour End.

Harishchandragad: This hill top is a irregular table-land about 5 km across. On the top there is Ancient temple of lord Siva, large water reservoir and long chain of Brahmanical caves. The major attraction of Harishchandragad is Kokan Kada which is a huge semi-circular rock wall of about 400 m and a most frightening sight. Its beyond description, one should actually see it to experience the nature’s architecture. Konkan kada should be visited in the evening as well as morning. In evening one is enchanted by the sunset where as in the morning one can experience the divine feeling of being in the heavens. Harishchandragad, are also worth visiting as they offer beautiful views of the sahyadri ranges. An ancient temple caves present at the base village Khireshwar are also worth seeing.

Bhairavgad: It is a small hill having lot of Jungle around and a Temple of Tribal people on the top. There are lot of Bhairavgad in Sahyadri – ‘Bhairav’ is a God of Tribal people, among 5 to 6 tribal villages there is one Bhairavgad.

Kunjargad: Kunjar means Elephant, this hill looks like an Elephant so local people call it Kunjargad. There are ancient caves on this hill.

Day 1 :- Mumbai
Arrive in Mumbai and takeover from Airport, Transfer to the Hotel. Rest day.

Day 2:- Khireshwar (Base Village)
Travel to the base village Khireshwar. We will come through Malshej Ghat, stay in this base village and explore it’s surrounding.

Day 3:- Khireshwar – Harishchandragad
Trek to Harishchandragad. This trek is very enjoyable in monsoon and winters. Night stay in camp.

Day 4: – Harishchandragadharishchandra
Explore Harishchandragad – Ancient Temple, Kokan kada, Ancient Caves and much more to see. Night stay in camp.

Day 5:- Harishchandragad – Kothala
Descend from Harishchandragad to another village – Kothala. Stay in this village and explore village life.

Day 6:- Kothala – Bhairavgad – Kothala
A short trek to Bhairavgad and back to village.Night stay in camp.

Day 7: – Kothala – Kunjargad
Trek to kunjargad. Explore top of this hill. Night stay on Kunjargad in camp.

Day 8:- Kunjargad – Kohna
Back to the base village Kohna. Night stay in this village.

Day 9:- Kohna – Mumbai
Back journey to Mumbai. Night stay in Hotel. Tour End

Trekking in Ratangad

Kalsubai : This is the highest peak of Western Ghats. It is beautifully shaped and commands a fantastic view. For hikers, this is a simple mountain to climb.

Ratangad : This is a ‘jewel’ among forest in the region. It is an interesting fortress, situated at the edge of the ghats with numerous water cisterns and caves. It also commands an excellent view all around.

Shirpunja Bhairavgad : This is a small but interesting mountain having large caves on it’s top having god of Tribal people.

Day 5: Ratanwadi – Ratangad
Climb Ratangad, Explore Ratangad, Night stay in camp.

Day 6: Ratangad – Ratanwadi
Explore surrounding of Ratangad and back to Ratanwadi.

Day 7: Ratanwadi – Shirpunje (Base village of Bhairavgad)
Travel to Shirpunje. Night stay in this village.

Day 8: Bhairavgad
Climb Bhairavgad, explore Bhairavgad and night stay on Bhairavgad.
